Hi there, My Name is Alex Buga, I'm from Bucharest Romania, and I am a design-addict - in the good way. I work as a Creative Director at MB Dragan - (True) Interactive Agency.
After playing for a while with the iPod touch I noticed that the tiny keyboard is not so tiny for my thick fingers and the bloody thing is very smart too.
When I first saw the iPhone guided tour I thought: “Great. Americans and English guys will love the auto-correct feature. But how about the rest of the world ?”
It seems that Apple had conceived a keyboard smart enough that when you ignore the auto-correct suggestions it learns what you type and where you place your finger at. So after two days of typing on Meebo I reset my keyboard dictionary and started typing dumb phrases (like the ones in the picture) with one finger just to let iPod get used with my fingertips :D
And it seems it really did. I still type with one finger (I want to do that for a couple of days) and the bloody bastard is learning Romanian:). Well done, Apple! You never seize to amaze me. You delivered a great product.
PS: My display is just fine. It doesn’t have the “negative black” issue. :D
Until Apple will release a romanian version of iPhone is good to know it can learn what you type, but as I can see on this picture it can learn only if you use the simple latin alphabet, not the normal Romanian one with special letters ă, â, î, ş, ţ, Ă, Â, Î, Ş, Ţ.
So you taught it wrong.
If you press and hold a letter, it will display you a menu with special characters, but endeed, Romanian characters are not in the list except “ã” and “î”

Hey Alex, you must recognize there is an issue with it. When you type text and hold it vertically, because it’s not that wide there is an incomfortable feeling.
I’ve tested it on FlashDen.net to see how it works online and it’s a beauty. Here’s the image:
